Fabian Joseph Garlitz Obituary
A crash that occurred at the intersection of Lima and Till roads on Saturday night has claimed the life of a 45-year-old man from Fort Wayne.
The victim, identified as Fabian Joseph Garlitz, succumbed to multiple blunt force injuries, with his death being ruled as an accident.
This unfortunate incident marks the ninth fatality resulting from a crash in Allen County this year. Emergency calls were made to dispatch after 10 p.m. on Saturday, reporting the collision.
According to the police, the driver of a Dodge Durango was traveling southbound on Lima Rd at a significantly high speed when they disregarded a red light and collided with Garlitz’s Ford Flex.
Tragically, a girl who was in Garlitz’s car became trapped in the wreckage initially but was eventually freed and rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Dodge Durango was also taken to a local hospital, although their injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
