In Loving Memory of Dmitri Thompson
The loss of a young alum is one of the hardest things. Yesterday Dmitri Thompson, Elon sport management alum was lost. Meech was a beaming light in class and on the court – his light was a true gift in the life of so many. As a student he impacted so many lives as a faculty member and were a young man my son Caelan.
His was an inspiration at Elon Basketball Camp investing in his and so many people’s development over the years – building confidence and sharing kindness and love. Some kids had your Elon basketball poster hanging in their rooms for years. His was very loving and genuine to the people around him.
Dimitri was an inspiration to his friends, the Orlando community through his nonprofit, and his teammates at OCP and Elon University, where he was just selected one of the 2024 Top 10 Under 10. As we learn more information about services, we will share them at that time.
