Death: Gary Parent Windsor-Essex labour community giant died on May 10

Windsor-Essex labour community giant, Gary Parent has passed away suddenly. He was announced dead on Friday, May 10, 2024. He died leaving many hearts scarred after learning of his sudden death.

HeĀ  will always be missed by all those who knew him during the course of his life. The news of his death death is considered a great loss to the community of Windsor and Essex. He will be missed by all those who knew him during the course of his life.

A great number of people were fortunate to have Gary Parent as a member of their community because he was one of those genuine leaders who contributed to the development of Windsor-Essex into a robust community.

Countless individuals whose lives he touched were motivated by his activism and the hard work he went through. His family, friends, and loved ones have received the condolences of a great number of people.

Throughout the years 1965 to the present, Gary Parent has been a steadfast supporter and devoted member of our community. Since his election as Steward in 1967, Gary has maintained an unrelenting dedication to our organization and its members.

He has also served as plant chair at both plants 1 and 2, during his time in office. Gary won the election for the position of Financial Secretary-Treasurer of Local 444 in 1987, and he served in that capacity until the time of his retirement.

Over the course of his retirement, he maintained his commitment to our community.
Throughout the years, he has served our members without expecting anything in return, whether it be on the shop floor, at the negotiating table, or on a variety of committees and boards. He has always worked toward the goal of improving the lives of our members and the community that we hold dear.
