UPDATE: Two people were shot at the Concord Mall on Saturday just after the conclusion of a carnival that had been going on for the evening. At around 10:45 p.m., the Talleyville Fire Company, along with other agencies, including the Delaware State Police and New Castle County Paramedics, were dispatched to the shopping center in response to the shooting, as indicated by the call logs of the fire company.
According to radio exchanges, the victims were located by the Sears when the police came at the area. The location of the other victim’s transportation is unknown; nevertheless, at least one of the victims was taken to Christiana Hospital in an emergency situation. A carnival that had been put up in the parking lot of the shopping center for the last week included the shooting that took place toward the end of the carnival. L.E.A.D., which stands for Law Enforcement Against Drugs and Violence, is the organization that is in charge of organizing the carnival, as stated on the website of the entertainment venue.
Delaware State Police remained at the scene of the shooting for more than an hour after it occurred, conducting interviews with witnesses and conducting an investigation into the incident. A crime scene tape was placed in the way of accessing the rides. Even after midnight, the troopers were still waiting for some parents to bring up their children who had witnessed the incident themselves.
