On Friday morning, a fatal shooting occurred in Chicago’s Irving Woods neighborhood.
The victim, a 24-year-old man, was walking in the 3900 block of North Pittsburgh Avenue at 7 a.m. when an unidentified assailant opened fire on him.
According to police, the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was rushed to Loyola Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives initiated a homicide investigation, but no arrests have been made thus far.
