Furman Edward Henderson, Jr Obituary, Death
The man who was struck and fatally injured by a train in Cherokee County, South Carolina on Friday night has been identified by the coroner.
The incident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. near the 13th Street crossing. On Saturday, the coroner officially named the victim as Furman Edward Henderson, Jr., a 43-year-old resident of Gaffney, South Carolina.
According to officials, Henderson was found lying outside the train tracks. The train engineer had reportedly sounded the horn multiple times in an attempt to alert him. Unfortunately, Henderson did not respond and tragically lost his life at the scene.
It is worth noting that the train was en route from Atlanta to Charlotte at the time of the incident.
