Mildred Russell Obituary
Mildred Russell, a former member of the Alachua County School Board, has passed away, as confirmed by a family spokesperson.
Stafford Jones, the spokesperson, stated that Russell peacefully passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, surrounded by her loved ones, after bravely battling cancer.
In August 2021, Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Russell to the Alachua County School Board to fill a vacancy.
However, she left office in November 2022 after losing the election. Russell had a long-standing association with the Alachua County GOP, where she dedicated many years of service.
Additionally, Russell and her husband Rusty Russell served as pastors, establishing two churches during their time together.
