Kathleen Doyle Bates is a well-known renowned American actress. She completed her education in drama at Southern Methodist University before relocating to New York City in order to pursue a profession in performing.
She was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Before she was cast in her first role on movie, which was in the 1971 film Taking Off, she had landed a few small roles on stage. In the play Vanities (1976), she made her debut on the Off-Broadway stage for the first time.
