Terry Brandenburg Obituary, Omaha, NE, (1948 – 2024) – Death Notice And Visitation

In the year 2024, on March 23, Terry Lynn Brandenburg, who was 75 years old at the time, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus, who was his Good Shepherd. It was on November 17th, 1948 in the town of Seward, Nebraska, that Terry was born. Although Lemuel J. (Buck) and Evelyn Brandenburg had three children, he was the eldest of the three.

Immanuel Lutheran School in Staplehurst, Nebraska was his elementary school location of choice. He never stopped being thankful that he had the opportunity to grow up in that community.

Terry did not take the idea seriously, despite the fact that his pastor and teacher had encouraged him to think about entering the ministry. 1967 was the year that he received his diploma from Seward High School. Terry became a student at Concordia Teacher’s College, which is located in Seward, Nebraska. During a basketball game, he had a near-death experience, which caused him to reevaluate the role that God was supposed to play in his life.

It was in 1976 that he received his Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois. Prior to that, he had graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. On May 28, 1972, Terry tied the knot with Rachel Cloeter at St. John Lutheran Church, which is located in Seward, Nebraska.

At various points in his life, he served as a minister in churches located in Southern California and Minnesota. Terry was a man who served churches from the very beginning of their existence in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Cheyenne, Wyoming. He had a strong interest in the formation of mission congregations.

Mountain View Lutheran Church was relocated from its original location in Las Vegas, Nevada, to a new location seven miles to the northwest. This move was made possible by God.

This congregation, which is expanding at a rapid rate, started out with a preschool and later added an elementary school, which now has 350 students from kindergarten through fifth grade. During his time as a member of the Board of Education for Faith Lutheran Junior and Senior High School, Terry was instrumental in facilitating the school’s relocation to Summerlin, where it has shown remarkable expansion.

Rachel served alongside him in the ministry in the majority of congregations, sometimes in a different capacity. After serving as Senior Pastor at Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island, Nebraska, he brought his retirement from the ministry back to Nebraska in the year 2010. The West Center Chapel will be open for visitation on Tuesday, April 2nd, from 5 to 7 o’clock.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 3rd, at 11 a.m. at King of Kings Lutheran Church, which is located at 11615 I Street. It is possible to make memorial contributions to the family in lieu of sending flowers.
