Spencer Whitney Obituary, Albany, New York, (2002 – 2024) – Death Notice And Visitation

Spencer James Whitney, who was born on June 3, 2002, passed away on March 31, 2024. He was 21 years old. There are too many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to name who love and will miss him very much. He is survived by his parents, Faith (Kevin) Whitney and Michael (Lindsey) Whitney; his siblings, Derek, Ally, Chase, Troy, and Quinn; his niece, Maya; his grandparents, Renee (Mike) Herzog, James-Cody (Betty) Capozzi, Charles (Deanna) Whitney, Cherie Wrighter, and Keith Cail; and his great-grandmothers, Shirley Crowley and Gloria Cail.

As we mourn Spencer’s death, we remember the good things he brought into our lives. Spencer had an effect on many people with his deep spirit, his unique point of view, his voice, and his smile, which lit up the room. You knew Derek if you knew Spencer. They couldn’t live without each other and were best friends and brothers. They took on life as a force and a team.

Spencer always wanted to be a marine scientist when he grew up. People often saw him with his brother Derek. He seemed serious at times, but he was quick to smile and laugh in a way that made other people laugh too.

Spencer liked being with his family and friends, and he also liked being on the wrestling team at Duanesburg High. He loved animals very much and was often seen listening to rap music or teaching his friends how to cheat in Grand Theft Auto. (Who gave them permission to play that?)

Spencer started working as a security guard at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals when he was a young adult. He was quickly promoted to repair technician because of how hard he worked, how nice he was, and how friendly he was. He worked so hard to get here, and Spencer and everyone who loved him were proud of him.

On April 6, 2015, from 1pm to 4pm, family and friends can visit at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd Colonie NY. At 4pm, there will be a service. If you’d rather not send flowers, please give money to The James A. Brennan Humane Society, an animal rescue. Spencer always had a soft spot for animals.
