Robert Meehan, a Brother Fire Fighter who had retired from the New York City Fire Department and had served as a Rescue Lieutenant, passed away recently. The Chief of Fire Departments has informed the community of this tragic news.
Robert’s journey within the Department began on March 23, 1994, which marked the beginning of a chapter that would be characterized by unwavering dedication and service. This chapter would be named after Robert. When Robert finally decides to retire on July 21, 2019, this chapter will come to a close.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to Robert’s family, friends, and loved ones. The wishes of Robert’s family are being taken into consideration as arrangements are being made, and we would like to express such condolences.
At this time of great sorrow, we would like to pay tribute to the legacy that Robert left behind, which was one of bravery, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to the protection of our community.
We would like to do this by recognizing the legacy that Robert left behind. His contributions continue to reverberate throughout the annals of our department’s history, which is a testament to the enduring impact he has had on all those who have had the privilege of coming into contact with him (and who have had the opportunity to interact with him). It is my hope that the remembrance of him will provide you with comfort and motivation as you go through this difficult time.
