According to the report that was released by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, a tragedy occurred in Yokuts Valley when a young boy of four years old lost his life as a result of drowning in a pond that was located on private property. After finding the boy submerged in the pond close to George Smith Road and Kings Canyon, the family made the distress call at approximately 11:45 a.m. on Monday.
They reported the incident after discovering the boy in the pond. The child, who was later determined to be Ronald Walker, had been missing for approximately ten minutes before his relatives found him, unresponsive.
Deputy sheriffs rushed to the location as soon as they received the call, where members of the family were already working to bring the child back to life. However, despite their prompt intervention, the boy continued to show no signs of responding.
An ambulance carrying emergency medical personnel arrived at the intersection of Highway 180 and Piedra Road just as the family was beginning the process of transporting the child with them. The family, under the direction of the first responders, handed over their efforts to the professionals, who were in charge of administering the measures that were necessary to save their lives.
Approximately twenty miles were traveled in order to reach the Adventist Health Reedley hospital, which is where Ronald Walker was ultimately pronounced dead, as stated in a press release that was issued by the authorities.
The journey to seek medical assistance spanned approximately twenty miles entirely. The tragic event took place when the boy fell into the pond that was situated on the premises of a private property, according to the findings of additional investigations that were carried out by the sheriff’s office.
