Michael Peck Obituary Dartmouth, NS, (1958 – 2024) – Death Notice

It is with deep regret that we must inform you of the demise of Michael Peck, who resided in Dartmouth and was 66 years old. After a valiant and protracted fight against cancer, Mike lost his battle with the disease on March 25, 2024. Joseph and Joan Peck welcomed their son Michael into the world in Belfast, which is located in Northern Ireland.

When he was a young child, he arrived in Canada passing through Pier 21 in Halifax. He spent his childhood in Dartmouth, where he was raised as a Woodlawn Boy.

Mike’s longing for excitement began when he was still a little child. While he was hitchhiking across the United States and Canada, he experienced everything that life had to offer. Through his enthusiasm for carpentry and his love of music, particularly blues, he was able to demonstrate his creative vision.

It was common knowledge that he would join bands on stages all throughout town, playing the guitar and harmonica, both of which he had taught himself. In addition to being known as Biker Mike, he had a passion for and ownership of a large number of bikes. His most recent endeavor was the restoration of his cherished 1956 Triumph, and he also rode his Harley with his A’rmunn Clan.

Mike began his professional life by serving in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Ship’s Diver and a Hull Technician. He was stationed in both Esquimalt and Halifax throughout his time in the navy. After that, I went on to become a steam power engineer and a high pressure welder/ironwork engineer.

In the years leading up to his retirement, he was employed at Irving Shipbuilding in Halifax as a foreman. Michael is survived by his son Aaron (Amber) Peck, his daughter Marcia Peck, and his grandson Elijah Peck. Additionally, he is survived by his ex-wife Cathy, who has been by his side throughout his sickness.

His parents, Joseph and Joan Peck, who reside in Pugwash, Nova Scotia, as well as his sisters Gayle and Jill, his brother Daniel, and a large number of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles are among those who survive him. Michael has been cremated, and in the following weeks, there will be a private gathering for his family. The gathering will be dedicated to Michael. More information regarding a memorial service will be provided at a later time.

Instead of sending flowers, we ask that you consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Diabetic Association, or any other charity of your choosing. We would like to express our gratitude to all of the medical staff members at Dartmouth General Hospital, as well as the VG ENT and Oncology specialists, who assisted and supported Mike throughout this difficult period of his life.
