Clarence Letourneau, our beloved founder and cherished Chairman of the Board, passed away not long ago. We are breaking the news to you with the utmost sadness. Clarence was a renowned businessman, but he was also a doting grandpa, leader, and father. All of these roles were filled by him. His witty banter, interesting anecdotes, and occasionally exaggerated tales will live on in our hearts forever.
To put it simply, Clarence was a trailblazer in every way. He took a risk in 1962 by starting the first pool company in Maine, setting the stage for what would become the successful enterprise we know today. His passion for innovation and commitment to quality were evident throughout his entire body of work.
Even after he turned 92 years old, Clarence remained very involved with the day-to-day running of the business. In order to stay abreast of the newest developments, he regularly visited job sites and offered Dan advice.
It is staggering to consider how many lives Clarence touched and how much of an impact he had on those close to him when we reflect on his remarkable life. The overwhelming display of affection and respect from his former coworkers and employees is proof of his extraordinary personality and steadfast commitment.
To celebrate Clarence’s lasting impact and pay tribute to his memory, we are inviting you to share your stories and memories of him. We at ABC Pool & Spa Center will never stop learning from his legacy, and the hope he left behind will shine brightly for years to come.
Even though Clarence is no longer physically here with us, his presence will be felt in all aspects of our company and in the memories that we cherish. We will return to each other, but in the meanwhile, may his legacy bring us comfort and inspiration.
