The Honorable Susan J. Gill While she was sleeping at her home on Saturday, March 30, 2024, Susan J. Gill, who was 59 years old and a resident of Wallingford but had previously lived in Durham, passed away unexpectedly. Having been born in New Haven, she is the daughter of Barbara (Spaziante) Gill, who resides in North Haven, and James “Pete” Gill, who passed away. Sadly, her father had already passed away before she was born.
Sue resigned with a sense of great pride from her position as a Sergeant Judicial Marshal with the Connecticut Superior Court, where she had served for more than twenty years, which she had held since she graduated from Coginchaug High School in 1952.
Her child, Christine Arrigoni Blue, and her husband, Chet, as well as her sisters Nancy Gill, Lori Gill, and Lynda DelVecchio, as well as her grandchildren Chester Blue V and Lillian Blue, as well as her nephews Stephen DelVecchio, Robert Gleason, and Andrew Gleason, are among those who take after her.
In addition, her mother is one of the individuals who is able to carry on her legacy going forward. James A. Gill III, her brother, had already passed away before she did. Her passing has occurred. The primary goal that Sue had throughout her entire life was to ensure that every single person she knew had the opportunity to experience love. She would always have a smile on her face and would never count the cost. You could count on her for unending belly laughs, an impromptu dance party, a delicious meal, or a helping hand. She would also never count the cost.
She made sure that everyone in the bridal party looked and felt their absolute best on their special day by volunteering her services to a large number of bridal parties around the world. Susan was a friend to everyone, and she possessed an infinite amount of love and charity. She was indestructible. Throughout her life, her grandchildren were the most significant and treasured individuals in her company.
The light that she brought into the world will be sorely missed by those who had the privilege of making her acquaintance. We will be holding a visitation on Friday (April 5th) from four o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening at the Biega Funeral Home, which is located at 3 Silver Street in Middletown.
