James Irvin Hanna Obituary Noxen, (1970 – 2024) – Death Notice

James Irvin Hanna Jr., who was 54 years old and lived in Noxen, is now at peace in the arms of his salvation and lord. Jim departed to his heavenly home on Monday, April 1, 2024, after a long and heroic battle against his health. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.

Jim was born in Tunkhannock on January 1, 1970. His parents, Gail Vieczorek and James Hanna Sr., were his parents. After graduating from Tunkhannock Area High School in 1987, he went on to earn a degree in aeronautical instrumentation from the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Juliet Whipple Hanna, whom Jim had found and married in 1991, would have been celebrating their 33rd wedding anniversary in August. Jim had met and married Juliet in 1991. In addition to being a devoted father to their four children, he was also a much-loved grandfather to his nine grandkids.

Noxen Bible Baptist Church was Jim’s church of choice, and he had a deep love for the Lord. His health permitted him to be as involved as possible with his church family, and he took pleasure in attending worship services.

He is survived by his wife, Juliet, of Noxen; his daughter, Amanda Miller (Lyndsey), Tunkhannock; his daughter, Gabrielle Hanna, of Noxen; his son, Dallas Hanna (Samantha Furman), of Noxen; and his son, Christopher Hanna (Danielle), of Dallas; his grandchildren, Camdyn, Aria, RaeLynn, Killian, Anastasia, Arabella, Greyson, Finneas, and Bridyn; his mother, Gail Vieczorek, of Tunkhannock; his father, James Hanna Sr. (Catherine), of Bluffton, South Carolina; five sisters; two brothers; and twenty-one nieces and nephews. His granddaughter, Elise Faith Hanna, as well as his stepfather, John Vieczorek Sr., passed away before him.

Jim was a courageous fighter who did everything in his power to improve the lives of his family member and his children. Having the knowledge that he is now free from suffering and has been made whole by the grace and mercy of God brings us a sense of calm.

The Noxen Bible Baptist church, located at 3604 State Route 29 S in Noxen, will be the location of the visitation and viewing service that will take place on Friday from noon to 2 p.m., with the celebration ceremony beginning at 2 p.m. Orcutt Cemetery Noxen will be the location of the interment that will take place shortly after the event. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made toward the costs associated with the funeral and burial.
