The death notice for Donald W. Nicholas It is with great sadness that we must inform you of the passing of Donald W. Nicholas, who resided in Sanford, Florida, and was born in Jacksonville, Florida. He died away on March 3, 2024, at the age of 75. As a final gesture of respect to the Nicholas family, please share your condolences with them on the memorial page for Donald W. Nicholas.

In addition to attending Murray State University, he also attended Seminole High School. Both Seminole Community College and the Seminole County Public School System were clients of Donald’s professional services. To show respect for his memory, contributions can be made to either the Salvation Army or the VITAS Healthcare (hospice) organization. Don Nicholas, a retired career military officer who directed the local office of District 25 Congressman Roger Williams for more than ten years, passed away, according to an announcement made by Williams’ office on Monday. Roger Williams was a member of the United States Congress. In addition to serving as a member of the House Financial Services Committee, Williams, a Republican from Weatherford, is the chairman of the House Small Business Committee.

Previously, the congressional district of Williams included a piece of the Killeen-Fort Cavazos region, which included Copperas Cove, parts of western Killeen, and a portion of the military installation. In the year 2021, it was redrawn. “The news of Don Nicholas’s demise has left us in a state of profound sorrow. Don worked for the government as a public servant. Throughout the years that I knew Don, he worked tirelessly to improve not only his town but also his state and his country. He showed a profound concern for people, taking the time to learn about them and their families, and frequently inquiring about how they were doing, as Mitchell explained.

Our community is left with a significant hole as a result of Don’s passing; may we all make it our mission to help fill that void by our own actions and via the service we provide. Jody, who is married to Nicholas, was a member of the Harker Heights City Council for two terms, beginning in 2015 and ending in 2021.

During that time, she concurrently held the position of mayor proem. The message read, “It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my dear friend, Don Nicholas,” and it was quite saddening to hear the news. “For more than 10 years, Don was an indispensable member of the Texas-25 team, and he devoted his entire life to defending his country without any regard for his own welfare.

On multiple occasions, he volunteered his assistance to others who were in need. Williams’ statement stated that he never missed a call from a veteran, regardless of the time of day or night, and that he welcomed service members into his home on every holiday.

It was his parents, Joe Nicholas and Mildred Nicholas, who passed away before he passed away. Beth Huffman, his wife, and his sons Joe (Melisa) and John (Gretchen) are the only people who will remember him after his passing. In addition, he leaves behind three grandchildren and one great-grandchild when he passes away.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 9th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Westview Baptist Church (4100 Co Rd 46A, Sanford, FL 32771). In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in his name to VITAS Healthcare (hospice) or to The Salvation Army.
