Patricia “Patty” Ezell, 81, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at 9:00 p.m. On September 1, 1942, she was born into the late Marelle Workman Loafman and Joseph Garnett Loafman. Patty’s love of music, her faith, and her commitment to her family defined her life.
A Woman of Faith
As a member of the Lone Oak First Baptist Church, Patty found comfort and a sense of belonging in her faith. Her spiritual path played a crucial role in her life, assisting her in both happy and difficult moments.
Treasured Recollections
Patty graduated in 1960 from Kirksey High School in Calloway County, where she was a proud member of the final senior class. She loved music so much that she would listen to her favorite songs and play the organ and piano. Patty was an enthusiastic supporter of University of Kentucky basketball who enjoyed the thrill and companionship of the game.
A Loving Family Woman
Patty’s commitment to her family was the center of her existence. She loved spending time with them and was incredibly happy at their get-togethers. Wayne Ezell, Patty’s devoted and loving spouse of 63 years, survives her. She leaves behind a loving and kind legacy.
With much affection, the families of Patton’s son Bob (Lauri) Ezell and daughter Jo Ann (Ken) Knapp of Paducah, Kentucky, will miss her dearly. Her two great-grandchildren, Houston Lemond and Harper Lemond, as well as her four grandchildren, Austin Knapp, Chad Knapp, Connor Ezell, and Robin (Heath) Lemond, all of Paducah, Kentucky, survive her.
Celebration of Life
Rev. Jeff Wallace will preside over a memorial service celebrating Patty’s life on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home’s Lone Oak Chapel. Patty will be buried in the Murray City Cemetery after the service. During the visitation on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home, friends and family are welcome to pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Kosair Children’s Hospital, a testament to Patty’s compassionate spirit and desire to support those in need. The Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home has tenderly made arrangements for Patty’s services, guaranteeing that her memory will be respected and treated with dignity.
