The 89-year-old Morro Bay, California resident Marjorie M. (Myers) Fosnaught Pirie peacefully went away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the Sierra Vista Hospital in San Luis Obispo, California. Marjorie Myers was the cherished daughter of LaVon and Zella (Wright) Myers; she was born on May 10, 1934, in Zelienople, Pennsylvania. Throughout her life, Marjorie displayed a profound passion for knowledge and literature, qualities that would shape her path.
With unwavering commitment and enthusiasm, Marjorie sought a profession as an office worker and bookkeeper. Her passion for reading, though, was the one thing that kept her going. Throughout her life, Marjorie devoured mysteries, works of fiction and nonfiction about WWII, and any other genre that captivated her.
Marjorie treasured every moment she got to spend with her family, who were her life’s greatest joy. James Fosnaught of Morro Bay, California, her daughter Cynda Halin of Butler, her granddaughter Jesse Barto (Shawna) of Livermore, her grandson Joshua Halin (Jodie) of Slippery Rock, her great-granddaughter Aaliyah Mian, and her great-great-grandchildren Noah, Jayden, and Aaliyah Mian are among her surviving relatives. In addition to her nieces and nephews, she is also survived by her sister, Sue Ann Alterete of Portland, Oregon.
Her parents, LaVon and Zella Myers, as well as her husbands, Robert Fosnaught (1994) and William Pirie (1999), sister, Marcella Myers Sturgeon, and cherished aunts all passed away before Marjorie. The family and friends of Marjorie will be able to gather at a later date to celebrate her life and pay tribute to her memory.
While we wait, let us honor Marjorie’s life by reflecting on her generous spirit, her gentle smile, and the love she shared with all. Everyone who was lucky enough to know and love her will carry her memory with them always
