The passing of Les Eugene Rauch, who was born and raised in Grant City, Missouri, has left his family and friends in a state of mourning. While he was growing up, he exemplified the values of hard work and generosity. He was born on March 30, 1940, to parents named Arthur and Agnes Rauch.
He was raised in Grant City, Missouri, and later moved to Mount Ayr, Iowa, where he was involved in a variety of faith clubs, sports, 4-H, and FFA activities, all while providing assistance to local farmers. His unwavering commitment to his family and the community he lived in leaves behind an enduring legacy of generosity and service.
He encountered his spouse, Cela (Walters), by means of his sister and they initiated a romantic relationship in 1960. In the subsequent year, he made a proposal and they entered into matrimony on December 13, 1961. They resided in Mount Ayr until their relocation to Manning, IA in 1963. During his residency in Mount Ayr, his sons Gene and Mike were born. Following our relocation to Manning, our daughter Christy was born. In 1968, the family relocated to Denison, IA, and their daughters Theresa and Suzanne became part of the family.
Before joining the Army Reserves in 1959, Leslie attended Iowa State University for a year and a half. During that time, she was educating herself. They received basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, which is located in Missouri, and advanced infantry training at Fort Dicks, which is located in Staten Island, New Jersey. He returned to Mount Ayr, his hometown, to work as a farmer and also as a school bus driver. He also worked in the agricultural industry.
The devoted children of the deceased are as follows: Gene (Kelly) Rauch of Schleswig, Iowa; Mike (Rhonda) Rauch of Denison, Iowa; Theresa (Mark) Beeck of Denison, Iowa; and Suzanne (Scott) Paulsen of Omaha, Nebraska. Eleven grandchildren survive him: Madison (Connor) Krajicek of Belton, MO; Christy (Scott) Berndt of Avoca, IA; Casey (Spencer) Hicks of Grand Junction, CO; Cassie (Aaron) Johnson of Onawa, IA; Garrett Beeck of Schleswig, IA; Zach Rauch of Denison, IA; Bryce Paulsen of Omaha, NE; Jazlyn Beeck of Savannah, GA; Kayla Rauch of Omaha, NE; and Dominic Rauch of Schleswig, IA.
Braden Fineran, Lauryn Johnson, Cael Berndt, Jagger Sharp, Cela Hicks, Callahan Hicks, Frankie Hicks, Avery Beeck, and Aurora Krajicek are the other nine great-grandchildren he leaves behind. Charles (Pam) Rauch of Parrish, Florida; Jeanette Quick of Akron, Iowa; Dean (Linda) Rauch of Cornelius, North Carolina; Leland (Wanda) Rauch of Montgomery, Texas; Helen (Wendall) Akers of Geneseo, Illinois; and David (Sue) Rauch of Manning, Iowa are the sibling still living. He also leaves behind a large number of other family members and friends.
On the Tuesday, April 2, 2024, the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison will be the location of the visitation, during which friends and family will be able to pay their respects and pay their respects to the deceased. On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at eleven o’clock in the morning, the funeral service for Leslie will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Denison. Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison will be the location of a private ceremony that will be held there. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
