Nancy Moyer Missing
Several decades after an arrest and confession were made, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is appealing to the general public for assistance in the investigation of the unexplained disappearance of a lady who was last seen in Washington in 2009. According to the information provided by Alisha Holland, the co-host of the podcast “Murder in the Rain,” Nancy Moyer was last seen in a thrift store in Tenino, Washington, at 6:45 p.m. on March 6, 2009.
Holland claimed that Moyer was not present when her children, who had been staying with their father over the weekend, were brought home on March 8. Holland also mentioned that Moyer’s pocketbook, identification, and keys were still in the house and that her car was parked in the driveway the entire time. The host of the podcast also mentioned that the front door of Moyer’s house was left open and that the lights in the living room, a lamp in the bedroom, and the television were all left on.
When Moyer’s neighbor and coworker Eric Lee Roberts called 911 in July 2019, Holland explained that Roberts claimed responsibility for Moyer’s death. Roberts was Moyer’s neighbor. Within the context of a sexual interaction, Roberts claimed that he had accidentally strangled her with a scarf. Holland claims that Roberts has a history of domestic violence, and not long after Moyer went missing, Roberts poured a concrete slab on his yard. Holland also claims that Roberts has a history of murdering Moyer.
According to “Murder in the Rain,” Roberts was taken into custody on suspicion of second-degree murder; however, even though searches were done in his home and the surrounding area, the remains of the deceased were never discovered.
Afterward, Roberts renounced his confession, and the accusations against him were withdrawn. During the time that the state is waiting for additional evidence to trial Roberts for the murder of Moyer, Holland reports that Roberts is still being imprisoned against weapons charges.
