Ann Fulghum Johnson died on March 20, 2024, at the age of 77. She passed away and joined her divine deity. Prior to her death, she was surrounded by the affectionate members of her family. The memorial service is scheduled for Friday, March 22, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home.
The funeral home is situated at 4100 Raleigh Rd Pkwy W, Wilson, North Carolina 27896. Individuals desiring to express their condolences are warmly welcomed to be present. The funeral services are set to occur on March 23, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Marsh Swamp OFW Baptist Church, located at 6664 Rock Ridge School Rd, Sims, North Carolina 27880.
After the funeral, the interment will occur in the church-operated cemetery. Reverends Ray Wells and Daniel Vester will act as the presiding clergy during the event. Ann spent her childhood on her family’s farm. Additionally, she enrolled at Rock Ridge High School throughout her high school tenure. She completed a four-year program at Kings Business College and obtained a degree in accounting.
Ann dedicated a substantial amount of her career to working as an accountant at Dean’s and Manning, CPA. Before establishing her own company, A&S Accounting & Tax Services, Inc., she worked for each of these companies for a significant duration.
She dedicated her life to serving the needs of others, treating her customers with the same care and consideration as she would her own family. Ann attended the Marsh Swamp OFWB Church, where she was a member and held the position of assistant treasurer. She also dedicated her time to teaching Sunday School for several years.
In addition, she instructed for an extended period of time. She possessed numerous blessings, but her family was the source of her greatest joy. She held all the members of her extended family in high regard, even them. Being able to participate in the lives of her grandkids was considered one of the most important advantages she received in her lifetime.
Susan is survived by her husband, William D. “Bill” Johnson, whom she was married to for 54 years. She is also survived by her daughters, Paula Johnson Henderson of Raleigh and Leigh Ann Thorne-Boyette and her husband Michael of Sims.
Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren Anna Claire Joshi, Grayson Thorne, William Joshi, Johnson Thorne, Caroline Joshi, and Emily Boyette. Susan is also survived by her sisters Joan Hinnant and her husband Howard of Sims, Alice Bissette and her husband Jerry of Sims, and Vickie Hinnant and her husband David of Kenly. Her husband David of Kenly also survives her.
Her siblings Faye Narron, Juanita Tedder, and Randolph Fulghum all predeceased her. Her parents, Richard Elmer and Senie Smith Fulghum, were also among those who approached her and introduced themselves. She underwent treatment from Comforcare of Wilson, and her family would like to express their gratitude to the organization for their support.
