Mary Arnold Death, 79-Year-Old Woman Falls Victim Of Lockport Fire

Mary Lou Arnold was identified as the woman who perished in a fire that occurred on February 27 at a condominium complex in Lockport, according to a statement that was issued by the Will County Coroner’s Office this week. The incident occurred at a condominium complex in Lockport. At the time of her passing, Arnold had reached the age of 79 years.

The firefighters who responded to the fire in the 1100 block of Division Street discovered that one of the apartments on the first floor was on fire when they arrived at the scene of the blaze. Approximately a few minutes after 8:30 o’clock in the evening, this finding was discovered. It was determined by the firefighters that Arnold was unresponsive, and they were able to save her from the flames. Arnold was saved from the flames by a rescuer. After that, she was sent to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, where she was pronounced dead at 9:04 p.m., shortly after being transferred there.

As far as the Deputy Fire Chief Frank Blaskey is concerned, there were no further injuries that were recorded, and all of the other individuals who were involved in the incident were safely evacuated from the premises.

According to the authorities, the firefighters who responded to the scene were able to immediately put the fire under control. This information has been validated by the authorities. Although the fire was restricted to a single apartment, the smoke damage that was caused by the fire made it difficult for the other occupants of the building to remain within the structure. This was the case despite the fact that the fire was contained to a single unit.

During the time that firemen were battling the fire, a search was carried out, and the authorities reported that they discovered an elderly woman inside the apartment who was unresponsive. It was at the time that firefighters were putting out the fire that the search was carried out.

The authorities claim that she was transported to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, where it was revealed that she had vanished without a trace prior to her arrival. The incident required her to be removed from that location. The preliminary findings of the autopsy show that the deceased individual suffered from a variety of thermal burns, as was disclosed by the Will County coroner’s office.

The autopsy was performed to determine the cause of death. The officials from the fire department have stated that all of the other people who were occupying the building have safely evacuated the building; unfortunately, the apartments are not inhabitable owing to the smoke damage that has happened.
