It was once claimed by a well-known photographer that “taking pictures is like savoring life intensely every hundredth of a second.” Carson Hughes was able to capture his love of life through his acts and artwork during his whole life, which was very brief but incredibly motivating. This skill was obvious every second of his life. a Carson Beginning on February 2, 2006, Michael Hughes, who is 18 years old and hails from Osgood, started making our planet a better place. His parents, Jason and Mandy (Hoffman) Hughes, brought him into the world in Batesville, Indiana. As a player who led by example and was dedicated to his team, he was a player that coaches yearned to have on their roster.
From the very beginning, he was nothing but a delight. Whenever he smiled, it was contagious and could brighten up a whole room. He was a sweet, considerate, and kind individual. He had a deep affection for his family, his friends, and God. In the words of Carson’s high school administrator, “Carson was a kid that everyone loved and simply enjoyed being around.” Carson actually was a person who epitomized love and character, and as a result, his thoughts were felt by everyone within the community. As a student, Carson made the most of several possibilities, and it should come as no surprise that he succeeded in his studies due to his meticulous attention to detail and his desire to go the additional mile. He participated in basketball, baseball, and soccer and earned the title of Jac-Cen-Del Varsity Eagle.
In addition to that, he was a student who was placed on the honor roll and a member of the International Honor Society. Not too long ago, he was honored with the title of Academic All-State Honorable Mention for basketball. It was his intention to enroll at Purdue University and get a degree in Industrial Design. His instructors were certain that he would accomplish what he set out to do because he was very intelligent and highly motivated. Additionally, he had a deep and abiding trust in God, and he was a member of the One Purpose Church in Batesville, where he served as the leader of the audio and video technology team. Carson left his impact on the world through his photography, despite the fact that he had an incredible personality and had achieved a variety of accomplishments in the fields of athletics and academics.
Beginning at a young age, Carson was known for his meticulous attention to detail. He was able to create beauty out of anything. With that being said, the wide outdoors and all of God’s live animals were the things that captivated him the most. The thought of waking up before the sun and making his way to Versailles State Park, his second home, in order to catch a glimpse of an otter devouring a little fish for breakfast was something that he could not wait to do. During the fall break, he and his father went to Cataloochee Valley in North Carolina. While there, they slept in the back of a truck for four days. This was done specifically for him to be able to see and record every movement that the elk made while they were in the open field.
In the previous year, he and his parents went on a trip down the steep and narrow trail of Mount Storm King, which is situated within Olympic National Park in the state of Washington, in order to capture the “perfect” photograph of the sun shining on Crescent Lake. To put it mildly, Carson’s enthusiasm for photography and the natural world was indescribable.
In fact, it was so intense that experts in the industry took notice of him and urged him to pursue photography as a semi-professional in the future. In 2023, he launched Carson Hughes Photography with this as his first project. Because of the sponsorships he received from large businesses, he was able to travel across the country and take a wide variety of breathtaking photographs through his photography business. His photographs were included in a number of trade periodicals, including the first issue of 812:
The Magazine of Southern Indiana, which received widespread attention. Additionally, he was honored for his work by receiving honors, such as being chosen as the winner of the Conservation Category offered by the Indiana State Department of Agriculture in 2023 for his photograph titled “Wild Connections.” This photograph is presently being displayed in the business offices of the Lieutenant Governor. In addition, the 2023 Oak Heritage Conservancy chose one of his photographs to be the recipient of their award. At the 2023 Pumpkin Show, he was awarded the “Best in Show” youth division, in addition to winning other honors through the 4-H program of the local community.
According to the words of a professional photographer, “His skill and composition far surpassed his age and training; he simply was a gifted artist.” In spite of the praise, he was never one to brag about his accomplishments. He merely desired for everyone to take pleasure in his photographs and love nature to the same extent that he did.
