Yves Michaud Death, Obituary-: Canadian politician, Quebec MNA Has Died – Cause Of Death

Radio-Canada stated that he passed away on Tuesday evening in the property owned by Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix in Montreal, which was his place of residence. His death in Montreal was said to have occurred on Tuesday. As of this moment, the circumstances behind his passing have not been determined.

According to a “villainous motion” that was passed in the National Assembly in the year 2000, he was falsely accused of having expressed anti-Semitic sentiments. On the day of his passing, the National Assembly did not extend an apology to him for the violation that he had committed.

Not only was he a steadfast advocate for the French language and the independence of Quebec, but he also made a reputation for himself by founding the Movement for Education and Defense of Shareholders (MEDAC) in 1995. This was a significant step in his career. Consequently, he was given his well-known nickname as a result of the fact that the mission of this organization was to protect the rights of small shareholders against the actions of institutions.

At a young age, Yves Michaud began his career in journalism. This was the beginning of his professional life. 1930 was the year that he was born in Saint-Hyacinthe. Between the years 1962 and 1966, he became the editor-in-chief of the journal La Patrie and also served as the general director of the publication.

An feat worthy of note. In 1966, he made his debut in the political arena by winning the election for the position of Liberal Member of Parliament for the constituency of Gouin. His resistance to the passage of a bill addressing the French language prompted him to slam the door in 1969 and sit as an independent member of parliament. He was a speaker of the House of Representatives.

It was the next year, in 1973, that he launched an effort to win the election in Bourassa under the banner of the Parti Québécois. In the year 1970, he was unsuccessful. In addition, Mr. Michaud worked in a variety of diplomatic posts, one of which was the position of general delegate of Quebec in Paris, which he held from 1979 until 1984 while working for the government of Quebec.

Furthermore, Mr. Michaud leaves his mark in the field of public service because of his dedication. Additionally, he held the role of High Commissioner for Cooperation at the Ministry of Intergovernmental Affairs during the years 1979 to 1984. During this time, he also served as the General Delegate of Quebec in Paris.
