Tallmadge, Ohio bid farewell to one of its cherished sons as Keith R. Ports, 79, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife and children. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his legacy of warmth, friendship, and zest for life will endure.
Born and raised in Tallmadge, Keith was a proud graduate of Garfield High School, class of ’62, where he forged lifelong friendships and laid the foundation for a life filled with adventure and camaraderie.
His thirst for knowledge led him to further his education at Akron University, where he earned his BA, setting the stage for a successful journey ahead. Keith approached life with an infectious enthusiasm, embracing every opportunity to make lasting memories.
Whether it was on the softball field, bowling alley, or golf course, he brought his competitive spirit and love for the game. Many recognized him as a familiar face from his participation in Palumbo’s softball teams, Stonehedge bowling league, and Maplecrest golf league, where he formed bonds that transcended the games themselves.
Beyond the realm of sports, Keith was a dedicated entrepreneur, establishing CMH Home Improvement, a business he nurtured with passion and dedication for over 40 years.
His craftsmanship and attention to detail left an indelible mark on countless homes in the community, earning him the respect and admiration of his clients and peers alike. In his later years, Keith discovered a new passion: the open road.
With his Harley Davidson as his trusted companion, he embarked on countless adventures across the country, accompanied by his beloved wife and cherished “biker family”. Their journeys were not just about the destinations but about the bonds forged along the way, weaving a tapestry of memories that will be cherished forever. But perhaps Keith’s greatest legacy lies in the wealth of friendships he cultivated throughout his lifetime.
