On Monday, January 29, 2024, Mr. Glenn Wilbur Carver, who resided in Langley, South Carolina and was 91 years old, passed away. He was the husband of Eunice Manuel Carver, who had passed away. He was the son of Gwinnett Carver, who passed away, and Claudia Blackman Gunter, who also passed away. He had lived in the neighborhood his entire life.
In 1950, he started working at the E.I. DuPont Company, and he remained there until his retirement in 1989. Following his retirement from DuPont, he continued his career as a Land Surveyor for a further twenty years. In addition to working, Mr. Carver enjoyed fishing and working on automobiles. On the other hand, he cherished spending time with his family more than anything else.
There are members of his family who include his wife and his parents, as well as his son and his wife, Vernon Glenn, Sr. and Debra Carver, his siblings who also passed away before him, G.C. Carver, Levon Carver, Jessie Goldman, and Mary Key, his grandchildren and their spouses, Vernon Glenn, Jr. and Ashley Carver, and Brenda and Kendell Chalker, and his great-grandchildren, Bella Tucker, Conner Pike, Rylie Chalker, and Emma Grace Carver.
On the evening of Thursday, February 1, 2024, from six o’clock to eight o’clock, the family will be present at the Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, which is located at 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway in Graniteville, South Carolina.
The chapel of Hatcher Funeral Hime and Cremation Service, located at 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway in Graniteville, South Carolina, will be the location of a Celebration of Life Service that will take place on Friday, February 2, 2024, at eleven o’clock. Willie Chalker and Frank Barker, both pastors, will preside over the ceremony.
The final resting place will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, South Carolina. Vernon Carver, Jr., Kendell Chalker, Andrew Chalker, Frankie Goldman, John Bailey, Jeff Sharpton, Conner Pike, and Tracy Carver will serve as pallbearers for the funeral service.
