Paul Lima Obituary, Death, San Jose, California, Beloved Community Member Dies In Tragic Car Accident

Paul was a man who was entirely devoted to supporting his family and friends. He was a loving and caring individual. His devotion to the Holy Spirit Church community was a priority, and he frequently showed his affection for the congregation. On May 12, 1942, Paul Sick was born to his parents, Paul and Irma Sick, in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Paul spent his childhood in Detroit, Michigan, and it was there that he met Barbara, the woman he would spend the rest of his life with, on the college campus. To begin his professional life, Paul joined General Electric in 1966 and enrolled in the company’s Manufacturing Management Program.

In the year 1997, Paul and Barbara made the move to San Jose, California. After he retired in 2008, he and Barbara enjoyed “eating their way around the world” at a variety of restaurants that were the only ones of their kind.

He was a passionate traveler. In their 52 years of marriage, Paul Sick was a devoted husband to Barbara Sick. Respected and cherished father of David Sick (Erika), DeDe (John) Ebner, and Monica Sick both. He was a good storyteller who shared a variety of experiences from his time spent employed as a Radar Technician in the United States Air Force between the years 1951 and 1954.

His successful business efforts in private mortgage during the real estate boom in San Jose, as well as his many trips with his fishing pals, who were always prepared for the next large take of salmon, were significant contributors to his success. As a result of Paul’s innate ability to feel a connection with dogs, they came to see him as their closest companion.

Sandy Paulson, his wife of four decades, his daughters Kelly Paulson Wilkins and Stacey Paulson Finnin, and Kim Sickler are among those who are left behind after Paul’s passing. Abbey and Julia Wilkins, Sally Finnin, Jillian and Natalie Sickler, and Jillian and Natalie Sickler are the five granddaughters that the delighted papa has.
