John Malone Obituary, Death, Arlington Heights, IL, A Heartfelt Farewell To A Beloved Resident

Our hearts are filled with sorrow as we share the news of the passing of John Malone, a beloved resident of Arlington Heights, Illinois. John Malone has left behind a legacy that is characterized by warmth, friendliness, and a strong sense of community. The 17th of March, 2024 was the day that John, who had reached the age of 76 at the time of his dying, died away without experiencing any pain or suffering.

Due to the fact that John was born and raised in Arlington Heights, he was a man who had a particularly strong connection to his hometown. He was well-known for his kind and inviting demeanor, as well as his willingness to help anyone who was in need of aid. He was always willing to provide a helping hand. Numerous individuals recognized him as a familiar face. John was always willing to lend a helping hand to causes that were near and dear to his heart, and he was actively involved in charity groups in his community throughout his whole life.

I am a proud lifelong resident of Chicago, having been born on the “Old West Side,” in the neighborhood of West Garfield Park, which was formerly home to St. Mel and Holy Ghost Parish. Both parents were born in the Kilfarboy neighborhood of Miltown Milbay, County Clare, Ireland. Born to Irish immigrants, both parents were born in Ireland. After receiving his elementary school diploma from the parish school, he utilized an academic scholarship to pursue his education at St. Mel’s (Military) High School. The primary extracurricular activity after high school was boxing. There were four years when I was a member of the high school boxing squad.

His senior year, he served as a co-captain. In the year 1951, while he was still in college, he won the welterweight (145 pounds) boxing championship in the Chicago Golden Gloves competition. There were forty other competitors in the competition.

Wilbur Wright Jr. College of Chicago was the next institution of higher learning for him. After that, he attended Loyola University of Chicago and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. He then went on to work as a psychologist assistant for the United States Army.

Even though John is no longer with us in the physical sense, his legacy will live on in the innumerable people whose lives he touched and the indelible mark that his kindness and compassion left behind.

During this time of remembrance, may we also make a commitment to continue living each day with the same selflessness, kindness, and love that he exemplified throughout his life. May you finally find rest, John Malone. You were cherished by many people, and you will be remembered for all time. Your legacy of love and community will be visible to everyone for as long as there is light, and they will be able to see how you left it.
