The police are looking for three individuals in connection with an assault that resulted in the death of a man who resided in the Stevens Point area. The victim was 61 years old at the time of his death. A further suspect has been apprehended and removed from detention. At approximately 11:45 p.m. on Friday, a caller reported a male who had been assaulted laying on the ground.
This information was provided by the Stevens Point Police Department. Parking lot 16 of the city, which can be found in the 1100 block of Center Point Drive, was where the individual was found. An individual by the name of Donald G. Mitchell Jr., who was a resident of the Stevens Point area, was transported by the Portage County Ambulance to the Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital. Following the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined that Mitchell’s injuries were so severe that he required helicopter transportation to Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
During his time in the Robertson County Schools, Donald received his education and ultimately graduated as the valedictorian of the Bransford High School Class of 1951. Prior to being drafted into the United States Army, he was a student at Lane College, which is located in Jackson, Tennessee. The thirty-three years he spent serving in the military brought him to the rank of Sergeant Major when he finally retired.
The tours of duty that he served gave him and his family the opportunity to travel all around the world. Not only did he travel throughout the state, but he also served in war zones, including the Vietnam War, among other conflicts. While serving his country, he was honored with a number of awards, but the Bronze Star was the one he was most proud of. In the years following his retirement from the military, he went on to earn an associate’s degree in Human Resource Management at Saint Leo College.
There is a mention of Donald in the book “100 Sergeants Major of Color” written by CSM Harold Hunt, who retired from the United States Army. This book was initially released in the year 1999. There are rumors that Donald progressed through the ranks of the military very swiftly, eventually reaching the position of sergeant major. His whole career in the military was defined by a variety of positions, including duty with the 4th Transportation Corps Brigade in Germany as a Master Sergeant and with the 240th Quartermaster Battalion at Fort Gregg-Adams, which was originally known as Fort Lee, Virginia. Both of these deployments were in Germany.
Donald had been actively involved in religious, civic, and community missions prior to his health deteriorating for an extended period of time. His many accomplishments include serving as President of the Deacons and Deaconess Conference of Richmond and Vicinity, President of the Deacon and Deaconess Union of Chesterfield County, and President of the Jesse Mayes Chapter of Triple Nickel (555), to name just a few organizations.
He was a member of the following organizations: the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship, Fort Lee Chapter; the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship of Virginia; the Harrowgate Elementary School Mentor Program for young men and fifth graders; and the Tri-Cities Brothers-in-Christ Secretary.Boehm is around 6 feet 1 inch tall, has green eyes, brown hair, and weighs 170 pounds, according to the authorities that have provided us with this information.
