Kathryn S. Miller, who was 67 years old and lived in Sturgis, Michigan, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. She is the daughter of Ronald Price, who passed away, and Katherine “Judy” (Thomas) Price, who also passed away. She was born on January 31, 1956 in Upland, California. Since 1976, Kathy has made her home in Sturgis, having relocated from California, where she had spent her formative years.
Sturgis’s First Presbyterian Church was the location of her wedding to Tim Lewis Miller, which took place on June 16, 1984. His passing occurred on March 12, 2020, before she did. In addition to her work at Arch Workshop in Sturgis, she had been working for a considerable amount of time as a teacher’s aide at the St. Joseph County Independent School District.
Kathy was a significant contributor to the establishment of the Sturgis Breast Cancer Support Group, in addition to earning an Associate Degree from Glen Oaks Community College from which she graduated. Kathy had a genuine feeling of affection for canines and other animals.
The lake life at her home was something she adored, and she cherished the time she got to spend with her family, particularly her great nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her sister, Cindy Price, who resides in Portage; her brother, Tom Price, who is married to Tracy and lives in Thousand Oaks, California; her nieces and nephews, Sean Price (and his wife, Rachel) of Moorpark, California; Ian Ahern (and his wife, Susan) of Newbury Park, California; Evan Huver (and his wife, Ashley) of Vicksburg; and Kasi Huver, who resides in Portage; and her great-nieces and nephews, Reed, Ryder, Leah, Fin, Cameron, and Parker.
Cremation was carried out in accordance with her desires, which were honored. On Wednesday, January 10th, the family will be present at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, located at 114 S. Nottawa Street in Sturgis, to greet friends from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening.
As a way to pay tribute to Kathy’s deep affection for animals, her family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Hope for the Animals of St. Joseph County, which may be found at 25420 Mintdale Road, Sturgis, Michigan 49091.
