Joyce Vieira Obituary, Death, A Tribute to a Creative Soul

Following a protracted illness, Joyce A. Vieira, age 63, of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, died away in the comfort of her own home on Sunday, March 17, 2024. She was surrounded by her devoted family and closest friends at the time of her passing. During their 18 years of marriage, she was a devoted wife to Linda M. (Romanski) Vieira, with whom she had been married forever.

Joyce spent her childhood on the farm that her family owned in Maine. After moving to Greenwich, Rhode Island, she attended Central High School in Providence, where she received her diploma as Cum Laude. After meeting her future husband, Vincent, while she was residing in Providence, she tied the knot at the age of 18.

As a couple, they relocated to Alabama, and later to Milford, Connecticut, where they brought up their children. The twenty-three years that Joyce worked as a devoted employee at US Motors in Milford were followed by fifteen years of service as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker.

A number of vacations were enjoyable for Joyce, her husband, and their family. These vacations included travels to Hawaii, cruises around the islands, and visits to family in Maine.

Her infectious grin and infectious laughter, together with her passion for gardening and cooking, will be the things that stand out most about her.

Joyce is survived by her husband, as well as her children, Ronald A. Viera (and his wife Jean), Kenneth P. Viera (and his wife Lisa), Doreen L. Viera, Linda A. Viera (and her husband Michael Szostek), and Elaine M. Viera; her grandkids, Charissa, David, Ronald, Vincent, Alexander, and Casey Anne; and a large number of other family members and friends. Her son, Stephen P. Viera, as well as her grandkids, Annie and Christopher, are among those who passed away before her.
