At the Evergreen Senior Care & Rehab Center on February 13, 2024, Fred Lewis Nelson, who was 80 years old and from Battle Creek, passed away in a calm and serene manner. Athens, Michigan was the location of his birth on August 16, 1943. His parents were Wilbur and Tressa (Shupp) Nelson. In a family with four children, Fred was the youngest. On May 18, 1968, he tied the knot with Pamela Dee Schuster in the city of Portland, Mi.
Calhoun County, Michigan was Fred’s primary residence during his entire life, where he was surrounded by his family and friends. Fred was a man of strong will and obstinacy at times, but he also has a tremendous heart and a beautiful sense of humor.
He was compassionate, devoted, and courageous. His life experiences as a welder, bus driver, Culligan Man, truck driver, and anything else you can possible think of contributed to his intelligence and knowledge, which he earned during his life.
When it came to helping others, there was nothing that he couldn’t or wouldn’t do.
One of the many people whose lives Fred touched, Fred was a thoughtful and compassionate man who will be missed by those people. Even though Fred has been taken home to be with the Lord, we are saddened and pleased at the same time since he is finally free from the agony and suffering that he lived through. Fred will be sorely missed by everyone.
His devoted wife, Pamela Dee Nelson, his children, Donald E. Nelson, Brian L. Nelson (Sharon), Shawn Nelson (Faith), Connie S. Feltner (Tim Adams), Patricia K. Odette, and Renee J. Buholtz, as well as a large number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other members of his extended family, as well as a large number of friends who cared deeply about him, are among those who survive him.
Family members, including Fred’s parents and brothers, passed away before him. It has been decided to cancel the memorial ceremony that was supposed to be held for Mr. Fred Nelson because a member of the Nelson family is ill. All of us here at the family would like to express our deepest condolences for any inconvenience that this may have caused.
