Oh my goodness. One of those frightening things that leaves you feeling powerless is the fact that this may happen. According to recent statements, Mark Harden, who had previously served as the athletic director of Fairfield and is now serving as the athletic director of Sycamore, unfortunately passed away on Wednesday as a result of a car crash that caused streets to be blocked.
In the ten years that have passed since Jim Brown resigned from his role as coach of the Academic Team, Mark was the one who formally named me to the post. It had only been a few weeks since I had my most recent talk with Mark. There was a specific instance in which he visited the athletics department at Fairfield University while I was attending to some business.
he offered that they start a podcast together, he and Jeff Sims were kidding about it. I can guarantee that it would have been funny if they had done it together. Thursday will be the last day that Sycamore will be open for business.
There is no question in my mind that it will be the topic of conversation in Fairfield since it is something that would be shocking to anybody who has lived in the town for more than a few years.
I am of the opinion that I will abstain from providing any more remarks until tomorrow, when those conversations will take place. In the meanwhile, Mark, I pray that you find eternal rest. There will be a place for you on the roster regarding
