A beloved seamstress who was well-known for her great work in the Lion Uniform Industry, JoAnn Moses, passed away recently, and we mourn her death with a tremendous sense of sadness. JoAnn was born on May 23, 1939 in Harlan, Kentucky, and she passed away on March 16, 2024 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Kentucky. Her journey on this earth came to a peaceful finish. Her attitude of kindness and giving showed brightly at the Little Wolf Creek Church of God, where she was a treasured member and where she was known for her love and charity. Over the course of her life, JoAnn was characterized by love, resiliency, and unwavering dedication to her craft.
The individuals who had the honor of donning her masterpieces will always remember her contributions to the Lion Uniform Industry. Her talent as a seamstress was unparalleled, and her achievements will be recognized for all time within the industry. Additionally, JoAnn’s most significant legacy is the love and commitment that she had with her family. This is in addition to the outstanding career that she had. Her parents, Lonnie and Annie Rountree, her husband James Ledford Moses, her daughter Tammy Gentry, her stepson Roy Moses, her grandson Michael Eugene Moses II, her sisters Dessie Moses, Rusha Caddell, Shirline Byrd, and Dora Howard, and her brothers Arlie, Glen, and Arvide Rountree all passed away before her.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Her daughters Angila Huddleston and Bobbi Murray, her son Michael Moses, her son-in-law Chuck Murray, her daughter-in-law Betsy Moses, and a multitude of adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren are among those who are left behind by JoAnn.
She leaves behind a treasured legacy of love and hard work. Her surviving brother, Estil Rountree, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, and close friends were among those who expressed their sorrow at her passing.
Through the course of her life, JoAnn left an indelible mark on the lives of a great number of people by virtue of her generosity, compassion, and unflinching strength. All those who had the honor of knowing her will carry her memories with them for the rest of their lives, and the legacy of love and dedication that she left behind will continue to motivate future generations.
As we say our goodbyes to JoAnn, let us take solace in the fact that her soul will continue to shine brightly for all eternity, illuminating our lives with the unending warmth of her love. It is my hope that she finds eternal rest in the knowledge that her legacy will be cherished for all of eternity.
