Collins Elaine Arnold, 9 months, gained her angel wings on March 8, 2024 at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, MN after fighting a courageous battle with HLHS. Collins was born May 17, 2023 in Minneapolis, MN to Nate and Jenae (Dabill) Arnold. Collins was a joy to everyone she encountered. She loved to snuggle, giggle, listen to Disney music, play her piano, and loved sitting in her chair to observe everything around her.
Collins’ time earth side may have been short, but the impact she made on so many people was abundant and unmeasurable. Collins had a way of luring you in with her big, beautiful brown eyes, lucious eyelashes, and contagious smile. While she spent most of her life fighting in a hospital, she had a way of bringing those around her closer together and closer to the Lord.
She was a true testament of God’s love and faithfulness. Our hearts are shattered beyond words, but we are comforted that Collins knows her Mommy loves her, her Daddy loves her, Tucker loves her, but most of all Jesus loves her. She is now wholehearted and is resting with the Lord.
Collins Elaine Arnold, who was nine months old at the time, went on to receive her angel wings on March 8, 2024 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. This occurred after she fought a valiant battle against HLHS. Nate and Jenae (Dabill) Arnold welcomed their son Collins into the world on May 17, 2023 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Collins brought happiness to everyone she came in contact with. Snuggling, giggling, listening to Disney music, playing her piano, and sitting in her chair to observe everything that was going on around her were all things that she enjoyed doing. The time that Collins spent on earth may have been brief, but the influence that she had on a large number of individuals was not only significant but also incalculable. The large, lovely brown eyes, lucid eyelashes, and infectious smile that Collins possessed had a way of drawing you in and enticing you to come closer. She had a way of bringing everyone around her closer together and closer to the Lord, despite the fact that she spent the majority of her life fighting in a hospital or other medical facility.
In every way, she was a living demonstration of the love and faithfulness of God. Despite the fact that our hearts are broken beyond description, we take solace in the fact that Collins is aware that her mother loves her, that her father loves her, that Tucker loves her, but most importantly, that Jesus loves her. Currently, she is at peace with the Lord and has a complete heart to give.
During this entire journey, our family has received an overwhelming amount of love, support, and prayers, and we will be eternally grateful for all of these things. Over the course of the past nine months, we have been able to step away from our homes and job to love on Collins. We will never be able to express our gratitude to you in a manner that is sufficient. The time that we were able to spend with her is something that we will never forget and will always treasure fondly.
In addition to her parents, Collins is survived by her grandparents, Tim and Nancy Dabill, Brian Arnold, Sue and Rob Mack; her aunts, Miah Haut (Truman) and Mel Terhark (Jeff); her uncles, Matt Arnold (Jenn), Bob Arnold (Jenna), Michael Matthys (Desi Ries), and Taylor Matthys (Erika); eleven cousins; and a large number of other extended family members who will miss her terribly.
