The Wednesday My first buddy, my brother, who was also one of the most genuine people we know, passed away since we were raised more as siblings than as first cousins. He was one of the people we knew the best. We are still going through a period of shock and bewilderment. Due to the fact that doing so would make it more real, we decided against making this post. The pain is getting a bit less severe with each passing day, but the sting is still present.

Because of the influence that Jason had on each and every one of you, please be aware that they have a great deal of significance for our family. The fact that he would tell it how it was, even if you didn’t want to hear it, was something that you had to respect. We are so delighted that you all had the opportunity to experience genuine generosity.
All he wanted was for everyone to be successful and to realize their full potential. The most of the time, he would get on top of me and… In order to be able to say, “Okay, okay, you’re right.” He introduced me to and educated me on a great deal of life-related information that only a full-grown sibling would. I am able to smile or laugh whenever I think about them, and this helps to make my day go by a little bit more smoothly. If I were to continue, I would be typing all day long. I could go on and on and on. Simply put, that is the entirety of the memories that we shared together.
He would tease me about how terrified I was of Billy Bob at Showbiz, but he was right there behind me, making sure he had my back as always. This was one of our favorite images together because he would taunt me about it. The affection and bond that he shared with his second father, Lynton Hickman, was something that he really treasured. Jason’s grandfather and grandmother, Junior “Mac” and Evelyn McMasters, as well as his aunt, Levina McMasters, and his uncle, David McMasters, all passed away before him. His father was the only member of his family to survive.
Over the course of the previous fourteen years, Jason had been a resident of Barton County and had attended school in both Stockton and El Dorado.In the past, he had worked as an electrician for Webb Electric in Lamar, Wallace Electric in Nevada, and as a lineman laying fiber optics throughout this region. Jason was a devotee of the great outdoors who had a passion for fishing, racing vehicles, and animals, particularly his dogs. The fact that he had a passion for adventure and was brave in the face of any obstacle was something that was clear to everyone who walked beside him on his path through neurodegenerative disease, namely brain cancer.
Jason’s legacy will be remembered for his boundless enthusiasm for life, his insatiable sense of humor, and his genuine affection for his family and friends. Survivors include his parents, Mirian & Lynton Hickman; his sons, Calob Langford and Curtis Langford of Lamar; grandparents, Harold & Beverly Hickman, Morrisville, Missouri; aunts and uncles, Paul & Priscilla McMasters, Springfield, Leland & Beverly McMasters, Rogersville, Diann & Steve Huddleson, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dena McMasters, Columbia, Les McMasters and Mark McMasters, both of Stockton, Scott McMasters, Lamar, Charles & Leslie Hickman, Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Lullel & Lisa Hickman, Morrisville; many cousins and a large extended family.
