The California Highway Patrol has reported that an accident that occurred on Friday and involved four vehicles has resulted in the closure of a stretch of Vasco Road. The collision was said to have occurred a few hours ago.
It was approximately 5:30 p.m. when the event was stated to have taken place, and it was said that there was a collision involving four automobiles, with one of the vehicles sustaining a fire. The incident was believed to have affected the environment. It was claimed that smoke was coming from the station as soon as Engine 99 arrived at the scene of the incident.
After a period of time had passed, it was reported that the vehicle that was already on fire was causing another vehicle to catch fire as a result of its actions. In spite of this, every single person who was inside the automobiles was able to get out of them without suffering any injuries. The personnel from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District stated that there were five persons who lost their lives as a result of the incident, and they had requested that a total of four advanced medical response units be brought to the spot where the incident took place.
Approximately five minutes and forty-four seconds after the hour, the California Highway Patrol got a report that both lanes of traffic on Vasco Road were blocked. At six minutes past five o’clock in the evening, a request was made for a third medical helicopter to transport patients to the scene of the event. Currently, we do not have access to any new information that may be forthcoming.The most recent collision that met the criteria for a serious accident had taken place in East Contra Costa County two days prior to the present time.
In response to a report that was received on Thursday regarding a collision that involved a bus that was operated by Tri Delta Transit and a passenger vehicle, officers from the Antioch Police Department were sent to the intersection in question in order to conduct an investigation into the event. As soon as the authorities arrived, they made the discovery that the person who was driving the passenger vehicle was the one who was responsible for causing the accident. His actions resulted in the rear portion of the bus colliding with it since he went through the intersection against a red traffic signal. This allowed him to accomplish his goal.
There were seven passengers on the bus who communicated that they were experiencing discomfort. These individuals were taken to hospitals in the surrounding area, where they were treated by ambulances.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was also taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance in order to obtain treatment for an injury that was not believed to be life-threatening. This was done in order to ensure that the driver received the necessary medical attention. There was no evidence to suggest that the occurrence was brought on by the presence of any substances, including alcohol, drugs, or excessive speed.
