On Sunday, March 10, 2024, in Traverse City, Michigan, Alaina Lea Paige, who was 53 years old and from Kalkaska, passed away. On the 20th of February in 1971, Alaina Paige was born in Charlevoix, Michigan to her parents, Earl and Darlene Gee Paige. Over the course of twenty years, Alaina worked at Munson Medical Center, where she was known to be smiling at all times. She thoroughly enjoyed her time there.
Despite the fact that Paige was born in Austin, she spent the majority of her childhood years in Longview, Texas. Paige and her husband, Dana, relocated to Kyle, Texas, prior to the birth of their girls.
It was there that she and her family spent the subsequent 23 years of their beautiful lives together. According to a phrase that Dana would regularly use, “you can take the girl out of East Texas, but you can’t take the East Texas out of the girl.” Paige received a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Stephen F. Austin State University.
She has committed the past 36 years of her life to teaching, fostering the development of young minds, and making a positive influence on the lives of hundreds of children during her career. She had spent many years devoting herself to school, and then she decided to retire in order to begin the next phase of her life, which included staying up late, sleeping in, and having countless opportunity to express her creative side.
Paige was a devoted wife and mother in addition to the professional achievements she had achieved. Her husband, Dana McFadden, and their two lovely daughters, Alaina and Audrey McFadden, are the only people she leaves behind.
Her compassion and kindness permeated every facet of her family’s existence, and Paige was the person who embodied the essence of her family. She was a woman who served others without expecting anything in return and loved without conditions, and her family will remember her as a tower of strength, love, and tenacity.
Her family has pleasant memories of the times they spent together, such as when they floated down the Comal River, each of them carrying a personalized water bottle that was half a gallon in capacity and filled with a beverage of their choosing. Paige was a woman who possessed a wide range of skills and passions.
The activities of reading, quilting, ceramics, beading, scrapbooking, cardmaking, making cross stitches, painting, and crocheting brought her a great deal of joy. Paige not only had a well-known passion for creating, but she also used her creativity and love to express herself by preparing meals and baked goods for her extended family and friends. Despite the difficulties she had and the situations she was in, she was able to persevere in her passion for crafting and creating.
The artistic works that she produced were a reflection of her soul; they were colorful, gorgeous, and brimming with love. Her handicrafts were more than just a hobby; they were a means by which she could convey her feelings of love and happiness. Not only were the presents that she made for other people one of a kind, but they were also considerate in a way that conveyed to the receiver that they were loved and understood in such a profound way.
Even as we say our final goodbyes to Mrs. Leslie Paige Green McFadden, we celebrate a life that was lived to the fullest, a woman who was loved deeply, and a legacy that will be remembered fondly. Our hearts will be filled with sorrow, but she will live on in our memories and in the timeless qualities of love, creativity, and kindness that we hold dear everlasting.
