Death Notice for Dan Shepherd, He pursued his dream throughout the latter part of the 1990s. The biggest adventure of his life was about to begin, and he was only accompanied by his donkey and his Airedale Terrier named Katie. He set out for the west.
A year was spent by him in the solitude of the Idaho highlands, where he learned to live off the soil. In the course of this time, he kept a journal in which he documented his everyday activities and thoughts. He was compelled to abandon his dream due to the forest fires, which was a regrettable circumstance.
He had been employed by the Greif Brothers company for a number of years prior to starting his trip to Idaho. After returning from his trip to the west, he joined the team at DK Manufacturing in Frazeysburg, where he made a lot of friends through his time there.
The year 2019 marked his retirement from his position as plant manager. Throughout his life, Dan had a strong interest for everything, from his boyhood pals the Rose family to the mountains of Idaho and beyond. While he was traveling, he met a lot of friends. The man was a genuine fighter! He endured a great deal of hardship during his life, but he never lost his composure.
He never suffered from feelings of self-pity! The phrase “it is what it is” was his go-to response to whatever situation that life presented to him. An extra special thank you goes out to his family at the Jug’z bar for taking care of him throughout his final years.
Strong right up until the very end, he will be sorely missed by a great number of people. In accordance with Dan’s wish, there will be no memorial ceremony or funeral celebration at this time. There will be a private service held at the graveside by the family. The details of the celebration of life that will be held will be disclosed at a later time.
