Very sorry to learn about Vince Power’s passing. Like many artists, owe Vince a great deal. He was the kindest of men, and although only three people showed up for my debut gig at the Mean Fiddler Acoustic Room, he made sure one of them was a key agent! We send my sympathies to Vince’s loved ones and family.
The following people have passed away before Vincent Power: his mother and father-in-law, Mary and William Gregory; his son, Michael Power; brothers, Ambrose and Arthur; sister, Pauline Duggen; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Kevin Willett and Charles and Patricia Gregory.
Vince was born to Mary and Michael Power in Tors Cove, Newfoundland. After completing his degree, he continued his studies on multiple occasions.
He went on to work as an accountant in Labrador and Corner Brook, a teacher in St. John’s, Flat Rock, and many other locations, and eventually a manager and cook at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook.
Everyone who was acquainted with Vince knew that he was a sweet, gentle man with excellent character. He had excellent ethics and was unselfish. He was a committed follower of Christ who served as both a communion minister and an alter boy at his church. Vince’s family, though, was his biggest love. Taking care of them and seeing them flourish was the greatest joy in his life.
Our family is greatly missing him now that he is gone. The funeral ceremony will take place at the Most Holy Redeemer Church on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 10 AM. A visitation will be held at Country Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
