Tommy Cozad Obituary, Death, Fort Worth Texas, A Fond Farewell To Tommy Cozad

Following a protracted illness, Davenport resident Thomas Michael Cozad, 74, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Genesis Medical Centre West Campus. On Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at 10 a.m., there will be a Mass of Christian Burial and funeral services at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Davenport. Interment will take place in Davenport’s Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. is when the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home will be open for visitation. You’re welcome to attend a Notre Dame Club Rosary with the family on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

After Jo Beth Whimpy and Mr. Cozad were married in 1954, they were later joined in marriage by Mary Adele McCarthy, who lived from 1968 until her passing in 1997. Thomas loved his numerous friends and lived in the Quad Cities his entire life.

He had been a member of the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club for a long time and was an avid golfer. He recently retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after a long and enjoyable career at the Distribution Management Centre. For many years, Mr. Cozad had also worked for Deere and Company.

There are nine grandkids of Thomas Michael Cozad, Jr., of Seattle, Wash.; John Schneider of Davenport; and Bryan Cozad of West Palm Beach, Fla. In addition, he is survived by his devoted partner Diane Fowler of Geneseo, Illinois, who brought him immense happiness and solace during his last years; brothers Bernard Cozad of Coal Valley and Jack Manglesdorf of Bettendorf; and a sister Eleanor Hunter of East Moline.

Sons Patrick and David Schneider, together with his wife Mary McCarthy Cozad, two brothers, and a sister, preceded Thomas in death. Donations can be sent to the University of Notre Dame Scholarship Fund, St. Anthony’s Church, or Assumption High School.
