We were deeply saddened to hear of Mary Richardson’s loss, and we offer our condolences to her husband Robbie, as well as to her children, Geordan, Sarah, and Zoe, on behalf of Na Piarsaigh / Blackrock.
Robbie, the spouse of Mary, was the first Chairperson and one of the founding members of the Blackrock Hurling and Camogie Club. Zoe, Sarah, and Geordan all participated in club play. Win or lose, Mary was a fantastic support both on and off the field, and she never stopped smiling.

Mary’s husband Robbie was among the original members of the Blackrock Hurling and Camogie Club and served as its first chairman. Geordan, Sarah, and Zoe all took part in club play.

In addition, Richardson leaves behind two grandkids and her three children, Chris, Jessie, and Matt. Richardson, a cherished member of the Channel 5 family for almost 30 years, began working at WCVB in 1980 as the host of the weekly public affairs show “Five on Five” in addition to her role as a news reporter and anchor.
She began co-hosting the station’s renowned Chronicle in 1984 with Peter Mehegan, and it has since grown to become the longest-running locally produced nightly newsmagazine in the country. Richardson and Anthony Everett co-anchored Chronicle from 2005 till 2010
