Jason Anders Obituary, Death, Lenoir North Carolina, Community Moruns Passing Of Beloved Resident

On March 9, 2024, in Portland, Oregon, Jason Anders, 47, passed away quietly in his final hours at Portland Providence Medical Center due to an unexpected and severe illness. On April 18, 1974, Jason was born in Portland, Oregon, to Harold and Kathleen Anders.

He earned his diploma from Central Catholic High School in 1992, and in 2006, he finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Phoenix. In 1994, he joined the US Navy and was stationed in the legal department of the USS Theodore Roosevelt as a Yeoman. In 2000, he tied the knot with his closest friend Katie, and a year later, they purchased their Milwaukie house.

Jason started working at Complete Distribution Services as a freight broker in 2001, and during his tenure there, he made friends for life. The love of Jason and Katie’s lives, Tucker was born in 2006. He suffered a stroke soon after, has cerebral palsy, and has developmental disabilities.

As a deeply loving and passionate parent, Jason delighted in providing Tucker with a wide range of experiences. Jason served Ascension Parish with loyalty as a teenager, helping out with many youth group events.

He enjoyed telling tales from his time in the Navy, particularly those about his travels in the Mediterranean and Middle East. When he was an adult, Jason would take his car almost anyplace to go play golf or watch a poker game.

He enjoyed playing strategic board games with Summer Newell, Cyndi Peterson, and Kyle, his best buddies. While he did enjoy traveling occasionally, his favorite place to be was at home, spending time with his friends Milo and Katie. Jason always had a sardonic sense of humor, but everyone knew that behind it all was a great love for his friends and family.

Scott and Rachel Kennedy, Seneca Garber and Jessie Frederick and Joe Donohue, aunts and uncles Steve and Janelle Serniotti, wife Katie and son Tucker, parents-in-law Tim and Julie Donohue and Mike and Rocki Garber, sister and brother-in-law Emily and Joel Spurlock, Isaac and Kyle Kennedy, their nephews and niece, Diane Serniotti, Leann and Jake Jacobson, Lori St. Clair and John Donohue, Ben Spurlock, Owen Spurlock, and Vivienne Garber, as well as Floyd and Marianne VanDomelen. His parents, Harold and Kathleen Anders, uncle Doug Serniotti, and niece Morgan Spurlock all passed away before him.
