Chad Smith Obutuary, Death, A Remarkable Life Remembered

On Sunday, January 14, 2024, Chad Stephen Smith, 34, of Washington, passed away. On May 16, 1989, he was born in Savannah, Georgia. He was a quarterback on the football team, wrestled, played baseball, and basketball for Washington High School, where he graduated in 2008.

He continued playing football at Bethany College after high school, setting numerous school records, until concussions forced him to halt his career. After that, he moved to PennWest California, formerly known as California University of Pennsylvania.

Chad was a kitchen worker at a number of local eateries, including Red Robin and Buffalo Wild Wings. In addition, he was employed as a quality control technician at the Transformers.

He loved watching football, playing poker, hanging out with friends, listening to all kinds of music, going to festivals with his college pals, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers. Chad was his brothers’ greatest admirer.

They were constantly there for one another and were “thick as thieves.” Chad believed in faith. Along with his mother and stepfather Melissa Smith (Glenn Cimino), father Mark and Patti Smith, brothers Gary D. Smith, Greg A. Smith, and Brayden (Alejandra) Cimino, maternal grandfather Larry Davis, paternal grandmother Patricia Smith, uncle Dean Davis, and aunt Michele (Tim) Washinski, he is also survived by a large number of cousins and friends. His mother Donna Davis, his boyfriend Victoria Peel, and his uncle Michael “Rocky” Smith all passed away before him.

Chad was adored by everyone and had the largest heart. He would take off his shirt for you and donate it to someone in need. Everywhere he went, he made friends and was the life of the party. His closest pals, Dave Williams, Angie Smith, Shauna Evely Smith, Courtney Barbour, Shawn Foley, Dave Hodder, Dick Buckley, Duncan Campbell, and Corey Rines will all miss him terribly.
