Buddy Reynolds Obituary, Death, A Life Dedicated to Service

At the age of 83, Buddy L. Reynolds passed away at Bethesda Health Care Center on Monday, October 25, 2021. He was born in Jackson County, Tennessee, on January 26, 1938. The family has decided to be cremated, with private services to follow. He was the son of Myrtle Spicer Reynolds and the late Raymond Vestal Reynolds.

He was wed on February 27, 1960, to Mary Reynolds, who is still alive. He was a DVM who had been running the Cookeville, Tennessee, Animal Medical Clinic since 1979.

He has been a longtime member of the Cookeville Rotary Club as well as the Cookeville First United Methodist Church. Additionally, Mr. Reynolds was in the US Army. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as two sisters, Patsy Yates and Sue Reynolds, and one brother, Sonny Reynolds.

His wife, Mary Reynolds of Cookeville, Tennessee, his two sons, Drs. James (Eileen) Reynolds of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Patrick (Suneetha) Shawn Reynolds of Lewisville, North Carolina, one daughter, Amanda Susan Reynolds of Cookeville.

Buddy made friends instead of strangers. He would discuss Jesus and the church with everyone who would listen. He was devoted to his kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren. He treasured every single one of them. Buddy continues to live on in the hearts of all who knew him, including his friends and family.

Buddy’s siblings Tonya (Ron) Furr, Edward (Lynn) Reynolds, Lisa (Bill) Lee, and Sara Reynolds, as well as his 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, survive him along with his wife Charlotte Reynolds, children Buddy Jr. (Christi) Reynolds, Jeff (Heather) Reynolds, and Penny (Gary) Case.
