Miguel Angel Licón Rodríguez (49), loving husband, father, son, and brother, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 3, 2021. He was born on December 19, 1971 to David Licón and Maria Antonia Rodriguez in Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Miguel was the second to the youngest out of fourteen siblings. He met Guillermina at church in the choir while in high school.
They shared twenty-six years of marriage together and three beautiful children; this February, the two would have celebrated their twenty-seventh wedding anniversary. Miguel was happy when he became a father but was genuinely excited for the day when he would earn the title Grandfather. Many people loved him as he won their hearts with his heartwarming personality.
He was always willing to help someone even if he did not have the means to do so, he would give everything he had. Miguel was a passionate and loyal Cowboys fan. He was ready with his jersey every game day, sitting on his favorite couch, waiting for the game to start. He also had a love for soccer and baseball. Miguel’s favorite teams were the LA Dodgers and the Texas Rangers. When he got the chance to visit the Ranger’s Stadium, he was thrilled like a kid on Christmas. He was a very hard-working man that taught his kids to always work hard for what they want and always stay humble.
His children will always cherish and remember the many smiling memories, life lessons, and humor for life when things were not looking good that they shared with their father, but most importantly, they will remember the love that fills their hearts that he left with them.
He is survived by, his wife, Guillermina; his children, Guillermina Jaquiz, Nadia Licón and Miguel Licon; his mother, María Antonia Rodríguez; his brothers, David Licón, Luis Licón, Gerardo Licón, César Licón and Francisco Licón; sisters, Romy Licón, Chachis Licón, Linda Licón, Mercedes Licón, Soledad Licón, Antonia Licón, Lourdes Licón and Laura Licón; and a host of loving extended family and friends. He was born in Riverside, California on March 8, 1962 to Homero Joel Rodriguez and Celia Candelaria Limas Rodriguez. Mike was remarkable in so many ways. He lived his life to the fullest and touched so many people during his time here with us. First and foremost, he loved his family profoundly.
Michael was a devoted son, father, uncle, brother and friend. Looking back, he was always a family man. Mike was a comfort for our mom Celia, sister Patt, brother David, and to his nephews Adam and Gabriel and of course his daughter Brescia and son Sejin. He was a very respectful and caring brother. Mike took all the roles in his life to heart and he strove to honor, support, and guide and most importantly, protect his family. He was at his happiest when he was surrounded by his family; even during those inevitable tough times that life has a way of throwing at you. His devotion to his family was the foundation of his actions; the anchor that defined and shaped his life. What an Amazing Dad. Mike enjoyed going to concerts and music was a special passion. He was a master at making Brisket and was a great photographer.
He will always be remembered for his “Happy Go Lucky” attitude. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Master Sergeant Homer Joel Rodriguez and loving son, Sejin Sebastian Rodriguez.
