It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michael “Jason” Williams, a beloved husband, father, friend, and devoted member of the Pleasant School community. Jason departed from this world on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, camaraderie, and laughter.
He was only 49 years old. Michael “Jason” Williams was born on January 8, 1975, in Marion, Ohio. Much of his childhood was filled with BMX freestyle bike competitions, where he traveled extensively to compete.
Personal Life and Marriage
Despite his nomadic upbringing, Jason graduated from Marion Harding High School in the class of 1993. During his high school years, he found inspiration and mentorship while working at Godfather’s Pizza, shaping his work ethic and values. Following his graduation, Jason embarked on his career in the car sales business at Mathews Acura/Honda in Marion.
It was during this time that he met his future wife, Rebecca “Becky” Jerome, who was his hairdresser at Angle’s Salon. Their relationship blossomed, leading to their marriage on June 28, 2003. Together, they shared twenty years of love and companionship, raising two children: Dane and Emerson.
Professional Career
Jason was renowned for his unwavering dedication to his profession. Throughout his career in the automotive industry, he displayed remarkable commitment and work ethic. Starting as a car salesman, Jason’s passion for his work was evident in every interaction, earning him respect and trust from colleagues and customers alike.
He progressed through the ranks, becoming a finance manager and eventually a general manager. He worked at various dealerships including Mathews Acura/Honda of Marion, Mathews Chrysler-Dodge Jeep Ram of Mount Vernon, and Taylor Kia of Findlay and Lima. Jason’s tireless efforts contributed significantly to the success of the dealerships and endeared him to his coworkers.
Leisure Pursuits
In the rare moments of leisure, Jason indulged in his favorite pastime of watching movies. A true movie buff, he enjoyed classics like “300” and “Goonies,” and delighted in geeking out with his family over “Game of Thrones.” Michael “Jason” Williams will be remembered fondly for his dedication, warmth, and infectious laughter.
He leaves behind a void that cannot be filled but also a legacy that will endure through the lives he touched. As we mourn his passing, let us celebrate the life of a remarkable individual whose impact will forever resonate within our hearts and community.
