Carl Smith Obituary, Founding Member of Northeast Missouri Old Threshers Has Died

It is with profound sadness and an extremely heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of one of our founding members, Carl Smith. His departure leaves a void that can never be filled, as Carl was not just a member but an integral force behind the growth and development of the Northeast Missouri Old Threshers. The entire community mourns the loss of one of the best men we have ever known.

Architect of Progress

Carl’s influence and dedication were instrumental in shaping the Northeast Missouri Old Threshers into the extraordinary event it is today. He, alongside his entire family, tirelessly worked to build the show from the ground up.

The cherished attractions such as the train, barrel train, wacky ride, and countless other favorites at Old Threshers bear the indelible mark of Carl’s vision and hard work. Without him, our beloved event would lack the essence and joy that he infused into every aspect.

Soft-Spoken Wisdom and Guidance

Beyond his contributions to the event, Carl was admired for his soft-spoken wisdom. Many of us looked to him not just as a founding member but as a source of advice, friendship, and guidance. His legacy is not just the tangible structures and attractions but the wisdom and kindness he shared with everyone around him.

Passion for Education and Legacy

Carl’s passion for educating the younger generation about the past way of life was unparalleled. His initiative to invite local schools to visit Old Threshers every year was a testament to his commitment to preserving and sharing the cultural heritage. His legacy as a teacher and advocate for the preservation of the past will endure through the memories of those who were fortunate enough to learn from him.

Family, Friends, and Faith

Above all, Carl cherished his family, friends, and his Lord and Savior. His commitment to these values shone through in every aspect of his life. As we mourn his passing, we take solace in the belief that he has been greeted with open arms and the words, “Well Done Good and Faithful Servant.”

As we navigate the pain of this loss, we pledge to do everything within our power to ensure that Carl’s vision and legacy continue to thrive at Northeast Missouri Old Threshers. To his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him, our hearts go out to you. Big hugs and countless prayers are sent your way.
