Jerry Jones Obituary, Jerry Jones Has Passed Away

 With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we gather to remember and celebrate the life of Jerry L. Jones, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Jerry passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital after bravely battling cancer. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Jerry was born in Malone, NY, and from the very beginning, his life was characterized by love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family and friends. He was the son of Raymond Jones and the late Marcella Jarvis Jones, and he grew up surrounded by their love and support. Jerry graduated from Franklin Academy in 1983 before furthering his education and graduating college in 1985.

A Proud Career and Member of the Community

For the past 24 years, Jerry dedicated himself to his work at Gross Electric Inc. in Queensbury, NY, where he was a valued member of the team. As a proud member of IBEW Local 236, Jerry brought passion and dedication to his work each day, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Jerry’s life was rich with passions and hobbies that brought him joy and fulfillment.

Whether he was spending time with his family, engaging in outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and boating, or cheering on his favorite Syracuse football and basketball teams, Jerry lived life to the fullest. He also devoted countless hours to coaching baseball and softball, sharing his love for the game with his children and their teammates.

Cherished Family and Friends

Jerry’s greatest joy in life was his family. He shared 28 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Sandra Bodynski Jones, and together they raised their children, Brandon and Kayla, in a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Jerry was a devoted father and husband, always putting his family’s needs above his own. In addition to his immediate family, Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his father, Raymond Jones, his sister, Yvonne Jones, and his niece, Madison Veeder-Jones. He is also remembered by his mother-in-law, Shirley Bodynski, and brothers-in-law, Raymond and Steven Bodynski, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

As we say goodbye to Jerry L. Jones, we do so with gratitude for the time we shared and the memories we created together. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
